Australia Diaries: Tree Top Walk

Last week we spent a week in the beautiful area of Torbay. It is halfway between Denmark and Albany and the area is beyond beautiful. We were staying here because we found a Workaway that suited us perfectly and felt like it would be a great place to stop whilst on our journey to the east coast.

Adam had been wanting to go to the tree top walk for a while as we had heard of it whilst living in Margaret River, however, it would’ve taken six hours to drive there and back. Whilst living in Torbay it was about an hour away so it only made sense to go to it as soon as we could.

The tree top walk is part of a huge national forest that is home to the tingle tree. These trees are so called because they have very shallow and fragile roots, which is why the tree top walk was built. A lot of these trees also have hollow bases and back in the late 1900s it was a tourist attraction to drive to the trees and park your car in them!

It cost us $20 each to get onto the tree top walk which I didn’t think was too bad as you can spend as much time are you like walking around the 600m long suspended tree walk. Yes, it is suspended and does bounce around a little bit. There were many times that my stomach did somersaults so maybe avoid this walk if you really don’t like heights. Otherwise it isn’t too bad and being so high up in the trees is amazing.

So, let’s get on with the pictures.

It was really great getting to be able to do this tree top walk and if you are ever near Denmark, WA you should really go and check it out for yourself!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post! I think I am going to change my posting schedule as I am currently doing so much stuff that I want to share with everyone and only posting twice a week just isn’t enough. My plan is to keep posting Sunday and Wednesday and then another one or two randomly throughout the week. This way my posts aren’t going out two weeks after I have wrote them! My previous blog post was an Australia Diary about living in Margaret River. Thank you for reading, stay kind
